Evelyn Nallen made her BBC debut as a recorder player at the age of nine and since then has appeared on BBC TV and BBC Radios 1, 2, 3 and 4 and given recitals throughout the UK, Australia and U.S.A. Together with harpsichordist David Gordon, she formed the innovative early music/jazz group Respectable Groove, integrating improvisation with written compositions. She is the Creative Director of the Weaver Ensemble which presents performances with a unique blend of theatre, baroque dance and music and a member of The Barefoot Band, fresh from a hugely successful performance of La Calisto by Cavalli for Longborough Festival Opera.
Evelyn teaches the recorder at the Royal Academy of Music, Junior Department. She founded Zero Gravity, Cambridge's recorder band in 2010 to give very good adult recorder players the opportunity to perform in concert with professional musicians. They have performed at the Greenwich Early Music Festival and at Cambridge's West Road Concert Hall. Evelyn is a Musical Adviser to
the Society of Recorder Players.
